Dr. Luke Zortman

Dr. Luke Zortman joins Whitehall Dental Center bringing both fresh training and years of hands-on experience to his patient care. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2026, graduating magna cum laude, after completing his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2022.

While his DDS is newly earned, Dr. Luke is far from new to dentistry — he’s worked in the field as a dental assistant since high school. That early exposure is what drew him to the profession in the first place: the chance to provide healthcare in a small practice setting, where science, hands-on problem-solving, and genuine patient relationships all come together.

Dr. Luke’s approach to care is rooted in conservative, comprehensive treatment. He’s passionate about serving the whole family — from clinical restorative dentistry and fixed and removable prosthetics to oral surgery and pediatric dentistry. He offers a full range of services including fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions, implant restorations, dentures, and partials.

What matters most to Dr. Luke is the relationship, not just the procedure. He believes in keeping patients fully informed and explaining treatment clearly every step of the way, and he works hard to make every patient — especially first-timers and anxious patients — feel welcome and at home. As he puts it, he wants his patients to know he sees them as real people, not just a set of teeth.

Dr. Luke was born and raised in Wisconsin. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his fiancée Kendra and their dog Mav, along with hunting, fishing, golf, and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams. He and Kendra are excited to become part of the Whitehall community.

Nan – Office Manager

Nan is our Business Manager who enjoys a commute from La Crosse. She is a registered dental hygienist who has worked for many years in various roles in the dental industry. She is proud of her sons, Jacob and Joel, and three grandchildren. She enjoys spinning, weight lifting, hot yoga, travel, and watching Jacob play Ultimate Frisbee. “Carpe Diem” (Seize the Day) is her favorite mantra in life.

In 2023, Nan received the WDA Award of Honor in recognition of her exceptional service to the Wisconsin dental community, especially through the COVID-19 pandemic. Through consulting and speaking engagements, small group trainings, manual development and in-office inspections, she shares her expertise in OSHA, CDC and HIPAA compliance with dentists and their teams throughout the Midwest.

Kerry – Administration

Our lead front desk team member loves to read, hike, walk and spend time with grandchildren Brooklyn and Sloan. She graduated from Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton, Wisconsin in dental assisting and has been a dental assistant, receptionist and in management since 1983.

Living in Altoona, she enjoys the drive (when the weather cooperates!), and loves to live life to the fullest. Kerry enjoys our patients of Whitehall and the surrounding area, while enjoying the camaraderie of the Whitehall Dental Center And she loves guacamole too!

Steph – Administration

“Steph” is a native to Black River Falls and resides in Whitehall. As our newest team member and in her role at the front desk, she is responsible for checking in and out patients, creating treatment plans and providing knowledge of insurance coverage. She loves spending time with her children; Isabel, Alex, Jacob and Madison (and husband since 2005, Gary too!)

Her hobbies included reading and working out that includesweightlifting. She loves the people in the practice as well as her team around her.

Clarissa – Registered Dental Hygienist

Clarissa, a native of Osseo, graduated from Osseo-Fairchild High School and went on to earn her degree in Nanoscience from Chippewa Valley Technical College. After a number of years in another field, she returned to CVTC to earn her degree in Dental Hygiene. What prompted the move to the dental field is she enjoys working with people and wanted a career that would use both her people skills and her natural affinity for the sciences.

In her approach to her work, she prefers to help patients find the routines and tools they can actually maintain on a daily basis, working to individualize her recommendations for their lifestyles. She’s also been told her laugh contributes a lot to the warm atmosphere of our office. What she enjoys most about working here at Whitehall Dental Center is the feeling of family among our team and patients. Outside of the office, Clarissa loves to spend time with her family, especially her two boys, Dalton and George, who are her world and her heart. Some of her hobbies include camping, snowboarding, and playing games.

Amy – Registered Dental Hygienist

Amy is a 2013 Dental Hygiene graduate of CVTC, and has her degree in Medical Assisting. Her favorite things to do in her spare time include hiking, continuing education classes in dental hygiene and travel every chance she gets. She has two dogs, Mazzy and Molly, plus her cat Mea keep her plenty busy at home in Neillsville!

Mady, Dominic, Olivia and London are her beloved children whom she loves to spend quality time with as often as she can. London’s softball games are a particular joy to watch with husband, Michael.

Amy enjoys educating her patients by teaching them ways to maintain or improve their oral health, while sharing her vast knowledge for their dental benefit in a light-hearted, easy- going manner.

Brenda – Dental Assistant

Brenda, a highly experienced and bilingual (English & Spanish) dental assistant, was born in California and raised for most of her early years in Georgia before moving to Arcadia, Wisconsin, her freshman year of high school. After graduating from Arcadia High School, she completed her Dental Assisting program at Western Technical College. She wanted to enter the dental field because it offered her the chance to see the progress and be a part of someone’s oral health.

She also appreciates that it allows her to meet a lot of people who appreciate the work you do to help them. Brenda always strives to make patients happy and comfortable with the treatment and services they receive. She has a welcoming personality and is very good at multitasking. In addition to all this, she is a tremendous asset to our office and our patients owing to her fluency in Spanish, which allows for clear communication and treatment planning with many of our Hispanic patients.

What she enjoys most about our office is that everyone on our team is always looking out for one another and for our patients, all in a very fun environment. Outside of work, Brenda likes going to the gym, rollerblading, hiking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. She also has an interest in doing other people’s hair and makeup.

Hailey – Dental Assistant

Hailey graduated from Whitehall High School with honors and enjoys spending time with family, friends, Merv (her cat), and Otis (new Golden Doodle puppy.) She plays league volleyball, loves to travel and listening to country music. An honor graduate from Western Wisconsin Technical College, La Crosse, Wisconsin, she has a contagious smile as our newest, extremely talented dental assistant.
